Protectoseal Celebrates 75 Years of Safety Innovation

When R. J Anshicks incorporated "The Protectoseal Company" In 1925, he never could have envisioned the safety industry that would evolve from his design for a "Safety Can with Flash Arrester." His concept of storing flammable liquids in containers with pressure/vacuum relief and flame protection has been applied to safety cans as small as one pint and to chemical storage tanks that hold hundreds of thousands of gallons.

As industry's need to safely handle and store flammable liquids grew over the years, so did The Protectoseal Company, eventually building their current headquarters in Bensenville, Illinois, just minutes from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. In recent years, workplace safety requirements and environmental concerns have further expanded the market for safety products, and Protectoseal has expanded its product offerings in response.

The company offers three product groups, each focused on the needs of a particular market, and markets them through a worldwide network of manufacturer's representatives and distributors. Its "Vapor Control Division" manufactures a complete line of venting and flame arresting devices engineered for chemical storage tanks and systems.

Protectoseal's "Container Division" supplies the industry's broadest line of safety cans, safety cabinets, and numerous products for safe storage, handling and spill containment of liquids. The third market served by Protectoseal is the gas/diesel-powered, off-road vehicle and equipment market. Protectoseal is the major producer of safety fuel caps for aircraft ground support vehicles and construction equipment.

Building upon its 75-year history, Protectoseal intends to earn the continued support of its customers in the new century.
